FLYING START is a collaboration between PTC (dramaturgy), Touchstone Theatre (production), and the Firehall Arts Centre (venue) to give a first professional production to a promising playwright. Every two years, there’s a new Flying Start playwright and a new Flying Start production. Currently, Briana Brown has been working with Kathleen Flaherty, PTC Dramaturg, and Katrina Dunn, Artistic Director of Touchstone Theatre on The Concessions. In May 2013, it came out in public at the Firehall’s BC Buds Spring Arts Fair. In September, it had a three-day workshop in PTC’s new studio space.
