The Firehall Arts Centre’s BC Buds Spring Arts Festival returns for another jam-packed year. Over thirty different music, theatre, dance, interdisciplinary artists take over the every conceivable nook and cranny of the Firehall, turning it into a giant arts factory for four days of inventive and innovative live site-specific performances from emerging and established BC artists. This year’s BC Buds explores the theme of Myth, Magic & Mystery.
The festival is free-to-the-public and runs Weds May 7, 6:30-10pm | Thurs May 8, 7-9pm | Fri May 9, 7-10:45pm | Sat May 10, 7-10:15pm | Sat May 11, 1-3:15pm.

The festival has expanded this year to include two additional days of staged readings. These include:
Wed May 7, 8-10pm Wet Ink Collective’s collaboration Ten Modern Muses
Thurs May 8, 7 – 9pm Travelling Light a new scientific thriller by award-winning playwright Jordan Hall (Kayak)
Fri May 9, 7-8:15pm Chelsea Hotel creator Tracey Power’s play inspired by the early stories of Women’s Hockey in Canada, Glory
Fri May 9, 8:30pm – 9:30pm Marathon a new solo work by TJ Dawe (Medicine, Lucky #9)
Sat May 10, 7 – 8:15pm Fritters in Kandahar by Peter Boychuk (Shelter From the Storm)
Sun May 11, 2 – 3:30pm an updated version of Sally Stubbs‘ And Bella Sang With Us
